“Creativity involves breaking out of established patterns in order to look at things in a different way.” —Edward de Bono
I know, I already told you a couple of things here, about the importance of creativity in education. This happened right after I have finished some of Ken Robinson’s books about creativity and being creative. Since then I did not have any chance to talk more about this subject, but I realised that I have already used the concepts and methods in my daily work, continuing to improve and explore more and more my sense of creativity.

“Creativity is the process of having original ideas that have value. It is a process; it’s not random.” —Ken Robinson
I am simply in love with Ken’s books because I find them really appropriate to what we are as human beings. Reading The Element or Creative Schools or Out of Our Minds is like drinking water after years of thirst. Maybe this is why, every time I am thinking about creativity I associate it with Ken Robinson.

Creativity directly from your library
Did you try to make an essay using only your library (not the digital one, but the one from your home)? A medium or small library full of various books, about different themes, can be the best option when you are looking for inspiration. For example, I have a medium library full of historical books (my dad loves history), but besides them I have added to it some books with pictures with different themes. When I need some inspiration, I always go there, grab 2 or 3 books and start looking at their pictures. First of all, it gives me a sense of relaxation and control, and secondly it helps me with ideas especially when the domain is completely different from what my work is about. It always works!

Creativity through videos
Yes, it is a fact nowadays that more and more brands create video stories and, moreover, it is proved that people usually are more willing to see a video than read a book or a text. You can see here a video about creativity related to Netflix brand.

Inspiration from others
Even though is about your mum, sister or a guy that you see for the first time, life is so well life is so well created that even you can be a source of inspiration for those around you. And it is natural to learn from each other and choose role-models that guide our beliefs and reactions. Moreover, other people’s successes are always a reason to be even more motivated in order to achieve your own find new, creative ways to achieve it.
Creativity in nature
Nature is a gift and everytime we stop and stare we realise how beautiful and well designed was everything around us! So, even a small leaf can be the best source of creativity. It depends on the perspective you are looking with. Sounds, part of the nature, are also an important source of inspiration, love and trust.
So, yes, I have already proved, using just a couple of words, that creativity is everywhere. And one more thing: nature, especially through its children, teaches us that creativity is something that we find in our DNA, in our own nature, our beliefs…
