Playing around the world

”It is creative apperception more than anything else that makes the individual feel that life is worth living.” D. W. Winnicott

Indeed, playing is like the best kept secret in the world. For a long time ago I was still jealous on my little brother cause he was playing while I was supposed to learn or do my homework. For me was nothing worse than being limited to a specific time while I could play alone or with my friends.

I still remember all those moments of fun, enjoyment and new discoveries. Analyzing the past I see a happy girl playing more with a lot of useless stuff that, for me, were supposed to be the best toys in the world. I was constantly looking for new games and things that can be transformed in something useful like a toy or something like this.

Related to all these beautiful memories I have discovered some amazing photos with children playing from all around the globe. What is absolutely fascinating is that each photo is so close to the local reality that tells so much about the culture and traditions of that specific country. Another proof that everything around us influence the way we play, we think, we evolve and create our own personality. In the end, playing is another kind of reality… 🙂

You can see below an amazing collection of photos with children from different cultures playing. These photos tell us so much about all these different realities and how much they influence the way we grow and create our own beliefs.
